Patient Service Representative-Surgical Care

They are seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the first point of contact for patients in the Surgical Care ambulatory practice, responsible for scheduling, registration, and providing exceptional customer service to ensure a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities
Greet patients in a professional, courteous, and welcoming manner
Register patients and verify demographic, insurance, and referral information
Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
Answer incoming phone calls and route messages appropriately
Collect co-pays and process payments in accordance with MaineHealth policies
Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Communicate effectively with clinical staff to support patient flow
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and MaineHealth confidentiality standards
Perform general administrative and clerical duties as needed
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous office experience with medical office experience preferred

Proficient computer skills
