Mid LevelPerformance Food Group is a company specializing in the manufacturing, packing, and distribution of food products. They are seeking a Staff Accountant responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities
Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately
Prepare financial statements and reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the company's financial performance
Manage accounts payable (invoices and payments to vendors) and accounts receivable (invoicing and collections from customers), ensuring timely processing and reconciliation
Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, credit card statements, and other accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
Prepare and post journal entries to record financial transactions, adjustments, and accruals
Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and proper documentation
Assist with the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations
Provide support during internal and external audits, including preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial data and analysis to support decision-making
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
Qualification
Required
Previous experience in accounting or finance roles
Proficiency with accounting software, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle
Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing issues
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements
Awareness of internal controls and best practices in accounting
Preferred
Familiarity with ERP systems (Enterprise Resource Planning) is a plus
