Junior DevOps Engineer
Knox Systems, Inc. is seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer to assist in maintaining and monitoring cloud infrastructure across FedRAMP-compliant environments. The role involves supporting CI/CD pipeline development, automating deployment processes, and ensuring security compliance.

Responsibilities
Assist in maintaining and monitoring cloud infrastructure across FedRAMP-compliant environments
Support CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance using industry-standard tools
Help automate deployment processes and infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
Participate in system updates, patches, and routine maintenance activities
Support implementation and maintenance of security controls required for FedRAMP compliance
Assist with security scanning, vulnerability assessments, and remediation efforts
Help maintain documentation for security controls and compliance audits
Participate in incident response and root cause analysis activities
Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity metrics
Respond to alerts and participate in on-call rotation for production support
Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues in coordination with development teams
Contribute to system reliability and disaster recovery procedures
Work closely with senior engineers, developers, and security teams
Document processes, procedures, and technical solutions
Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions
Stay current with cloud technologies, security best practices, and FedRAMP requirements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
1-2 years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or Google Cloud preferred)
Basic understanding of Linux/Unix systems administration
Familiarity with at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, firewalls)
Experience with version control systems (Git)
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Excellent communication and documentation skills
U.S. citizenship required (for FedRAMP environment access)
Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance if required
Preferred
Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
Understanding of FedRAMP compliance requirements and security frameworks (NIST 800-53)
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Splunk)
Cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, etc.)
Previous experience in regulated or government environments
