FP&A Leader - DG Solar
Tapio is a private equity-backed distributed energy platform seeking a strategic finance leader to guide performance management and capital allocation. The FP&A Lead will work closely with the CFO to deliver financial insights that drive decision-making at the executive and board levels, focusing on performance reporting and financial modeling.

Responsibilities
Lead preparation of monthly financial reporting packages, including business unit and asset-level performance
Track and analyze KPIs related to financial results, headcount, and operational metrics
Develop high-trust reporting frameworks that leadership and investors rely on
Act as the point of contact for performance-related questions from internal stakeholders and investor groups
Build clear, concise board decks that connect operational performance to strategic direction
Lead monthly and quarterly budget-to-actual reporting with analysis and commentary
Work with department heads and finance to ensure budget assumptions stay aligned with company strategy
Support preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts
Create “what if” models for origination pacing, cost structure adjustments, and strategic pivots
Quantify business cases for new initiatives, downsizing, or changes in capital structure
Provide scenario-based guidance on how changes affect runway, liquidity, and business trajectory
Help leadership evaluate trade-offs and act with clarity in uncertain conditions
Partner with Treasury to strengthen cash planning and liquidity forecasting over multi-year horizons
Stress-test capital deployment plans under downside or delayed-growth cases
Improve visibility and discipline around capital needs across projects, assets, and functions
Help establish frameworks that improve real-time decision-making around liquidity
Support the CFO in growing the FP&A function — including future hiring and team structuring
Serve as a key partner to Commercial Asset Management, Treasury, and Operations
Create planning processes that scale with the business as the asset base grows
Continuously improve reporting quality, cadence, and clarity for internal and external stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Strong foundation in FP&A, including experience owning forecasts, budgets, and management reporting
Deep familiarity with distributed energy, ideally C&I solar (required)
Board-facing or investor-facing experience — able to build confidence through clarity and accuracy
Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; able to distill complex models into actionable outputs
Experience in a PE-backed or performance-driven business environment
High-integrity operator with strong communication and executive presence
