Support Desktop Technician
Vertex Group is seeking a dedicated Support Desktop Technician to provide comprehensive technical support and troubleshooting for desktop and laptop systems. The role involves assisting end-users with technical issues, maintaining IT systems, and ensuring optimal performance across various operating environments including Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Responsibilities
Provide technical support for desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals
Troubleshoot software issues related to operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), applications (Microsoft Office), and network connectivity
Manage computer hardware including installation, configuration, upgrades, and repairs
Assist users with software troubleshooting, Active Directory management, GPO configurations, VPN setup, firewall settings, DNS configurations, and TCP/IP networking
Support IT infrastructure components such as LAN/WAN networks, Cisco Meraki devices, TCP/IP protocols, and network administration tasks
Utilize tools like SCCM, BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, Jira for incident tracking and system management
Maintain security protocols including firewall configurations and VPN access to ensure data integrity
Manage user accounts and permissions through Active Directory and Windows Server environments
Assist with the deployment of updates and patches using SCCM or similar tools
Document support activities thoroughly to ensure clear communication within the help desk team
Collaborate with other IT team members on projects involving network administration or system upgrades
Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with end-users to resolve technical issues promptly
Qualification
Required
Proven experience in technical support or desktop support roles within a corporate environment
Strong knowledge of operating systems including Windows (Windows 10/11/Server), macOS, and Linux distributions
Familiarity with computer hardware components and troubleshooting procedures
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other productivity tools
Knowledge of computer networking concepts such as LAN/WAN, TCP/IP protocols, DNS management, VPNs (including Cisco Meraki), firewalls, and network security best practices
Proficiency in using IT management tools like SCCM, BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, Jira for incident tracking and asset management
Understanding of Active Directory management and Group Policy Objects (GPO)
Ability to analyze technical issues quickly and develop effective solutions
Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence
Support Desktop Technician: 1 year (Required)
CompTIA A+ (Required)
Ability to Commute: Dallas, TX 75234 (Required)
Preferred
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or similar are preferred but not required
