Producers National Corporation is seeking a Claims Leader - Litigation to manage a team handling complex insurance claims across commercial and personal lines. Responsibilities
Lead a team that handles a multi-state caseload of complex losses with professionalism, leveraging extensive industry experience
Oversee the litigation process from inception to resolution, ensuring effective use of defense counsel and experts
Delivers hands-on claim handling, demonstrating ownership, accountability, and a customer-first approach
Ensure timely communication with policyholders, internal teams, and external business partners
Develop customized claim strategies and action plans with minimal supervision
Control and manage allocated expenses in accordance with claim needs and company guidelines
Ensures that the team applies strong evaluation, negotiation, and settlement strategies to resolve claims in a fair and cost-effective manner
Maintains thorough claim documentation and regularly updates leadership on case progress of complex claims, large losses and upcoming trials
Recognize and mitigate potential fraud or claims leakage
Interpret policies and conduct detailed coverage analysis, including legal and jurisdictional considerations
Attend mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trials as required
Partner with underwriting, product, legal, pricing, IT, and other departments to ensure claims alignment with company goals
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 7 years' experience handling complex/litigated claims at an insurance carrier required
Prior experience directing and working with defense counsel is required
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on negotiation and conflict resolution
Exceptional organizational and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate large volumes of information and apply legal/policy knowledge effectively
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while recognizing emerging claim trends and issues
Bachelor's degree required
Must obtain all necessary federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the timeframe designated by the company
Additional licensing may be required for new products or service offerings
Failure to obtain required credentials within the specified time may result in disqualification from the role
Preferred
Minimum of 5 years' prior leadership experience preferred
Juris Doctor (J.D.) preferred
