Senior Director - Regulatory Operations

Responsibilities

Direct the organization in maintaining a state of regulatory compliance across the health system through proactive tracking, communication, monitoring, developing strategies, implementation, and feedback with all accountable parties including senior leadership, market leaders, and governance committees
Promotes safe, high quality, and effective patient care through maintaining accreditation, certification, and licensure of all Ascension facilities
Design, implement, and operationalize strategies enterprise-wide for all regulatory bodies to include federal, state and local agencies for continuous survey readiness programs
Provide subject matter expertise to ensure full participation, adherence to governing body laws and standards, implementation consistent evaluation of results with high inter-rater reliability, identification of trends and risks requiring follow-up, and tracking of plans to address and mitigate deficiencies
Develop and implement strategies, policies, practices and tools for consultation and education to the organization regarding clinical performance improvement and foundational standards of operational compliance including the Joint Commission/AAAHC, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and other health care standard setting and enforcement entities
Foster relationships to drive optimal performance
Hold responsible parties accountable to ensure accurate reporting metrics for senior and market executives based on the analysis of facility data and interpretation of cumulative data trends throughout the enterprise
Identify and prioritize critical patient safety and regulatory issues to create work process improvements to resolve operational problems, eliminating compliance violations or risk
Collaborate with other stakeholders and cross functional teams to ensure successful implementation of identified improvements
Ensure enterprise survey readiness by standardizing regulatory structures and processes for market leaders regarding requirements of clinical performance improvement for operational compliance to public reporting including internal reporting metrics, external quality agencies including the Joint Commission/AAAHC, CMS, State Survey agencies, etc

Required

High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required with 2 of those years being in leadership/management
OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required with 2 of those years being in leadership/management
Director level regulatory experience in hospital setting, preferably within health system

Preferred

Master's degree HIGHLY preferred
