Commercial Relationship Officer

Responsibilities

Proactively assist the commercial lending department with managing the commercial and business loan portfolio
Obtain financial statements, tax returns, and other financial information at loan review/renewal and periodically as required by State ECU
Demonstrate expertise with all commercial and business lending products, services, policies, and procedures
Facilitate renewals of commercial and business loans on internal systems
Review and create commercial loan files with pertinent documentation for renewals of commercial and business loans
Review loan packages for accuracy and to ensure that the proper documentation is in file post-closing
Keep commercial lenders informed regarding communications with existing relationships
Work with vendors as needed to assist with various stages of the commercial loan review/renewal process. For example, title companies, appraisers, insurance providers, tax assessors, etc
Monitor loan reports and work with the commercial lending team to ensure that loans are being handled as agreed
Keep abreast of local and national economic, financial, political and legislative events and climates which could have an impact on commercial lending activities
Represent the credit union to the members in a courteous and professional manner and provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service
Manage member communication with high quality standards
Collaborate with Business Services and other departments for servicing commercial accounts, as needed
Provide general and specific information related to credit union services or policies
Respond to members' requests and inquiries and direct them to the proper person for specific information and services as needed
Service existing commercial and business loan relationships as assigned
Understand compliance issues and regulations, and attend training as directed or required
Performs all other duties as assigned

Required

Basic knowledge of loan processing, loan documentation, and lending policy/procedures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently with little supervision as well as in a team environment
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Patience, tact, enthusiasm and positive attitude toward the members and general public
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and success working with clients with diverse banking needs
Education or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in related field plus one or more years' relevant job experience; alternatively, four plus years of progressive financial institution and lending experience
