COOPERATIVE EDUCATION STUDENT – ENGINEERING & MAINTENANCE

Seminole Electric Cooperative, Inc. is seeking a Cooperative Education Student to join their Engineering & Maintenance team. The role involves supporting planning studies, NERC compliance activities, and various engineering assignments while participating in cross-training within the Transmission & Engineering Division.

Responsibilities

Assists with performing transmission planning related technical studies and other related activities using various tools
Assists with NERC standard related job functions relating to conducting studies, evidence collection, coordination, and documentation. Participates in the development of compliance workflows and processes
Participates in the drafting of corporate procedures and other related technical documents
Prepares and updates system documentation including transmission drawings/diagrams, equipment documentation and data, operating manuals, practices, and procedures
Performs other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned
NERC Compliance : Performs NERC Compliance Program roles if/as designated in Seminole's Standard Ownership Matrix (SOM) including ongoing evidence retention in "audit-ready" form. You should also be familiar with Seminole's Enterprise Internal Compliance Program (ENT-GCD-RGC-EP-054) to further your understanding of Seminole's compliance program and your duties and responsibilities in the SOM

Required

Currently enrolled as a part-time or full-time student pursuing a Bachelor's or Post Graduate degree at an accredited educational institution
Working towards a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent electrical program
Junior class standing with at least one semester of specialization core classes completed
Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours per semester
Maintain a 2.75 GPA
Work approximately 20 hours a week
Understanding of Power System principles or electric systems
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Technical Writing
Ability to learn and use new software applications/packages
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Effective verbal, listening and written communications
Ability to exercise sound professional judgment
Interpersonal skills

Must be able to follow established protective measures including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
