CBR is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Deputy Editor to help lead our Movies and Television coverage. This role is ideal for a seasoned editor with a strong editorial voice, solid leadership skills, excellent news judgment, and a deep passion for entertainment.

Responsibilities

Manage daily editorial operations for the Movies and Television verticals

Assign, edit and publish high-quality features, lists and evergreen content

Lead weekly staff meetings to communicate progress on traffic goals, announce site-wide initiatives, and support the team

Participate in weekly meetings with management to assess operations, traffic goals, and discuss content initiatives

Guide writers on tone, structure, SEO best practices, and CBR’s editorial standards

Identify coverage opportunities around breaking news, trends, and audience interests

Help plan short and long-term content strategies to drive traffic and engagement

Ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to editorial guidelines

Collaborate cross-functionally with senior editors and other verticals as needed

Required

Relevant experience in senior editing roles (managing editor, deputy editor, editor-in-chief, senior editor) of a digital publication specializing in film, television and/or related content

Strong subject-matter expertise in Movies or Television (one primary focus required)

Ability to efficiently write and edit high-quality content

Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

Strong understanding of SEO, analytics and performance-driven content

Ability to balance editorial quality with traffic and production goals
