New Grad, Entry LevelThe South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism is responsible for managing state parks and recreational areas. They are seeking a Park Technician to perform maintenance and upkeep of state parks, including repairs, groundskeeping, and assisting park visitors.

Responsibilities
Performs miscellaneous repairs and park improvements, to include carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing, landscaping and grounds keeping
Repairs and maintains motorized equipment. Performs preventive maintenance on facilities and equipment. Keeps maintenance records
Performs and directs clean-up and housekeeping activities to assure the attractiveness, cleanliness and safety of park grounds and facilities
Assist in maintaining Park Swimming pool
Assists with operation of the park by registering campers, completing related forms, and reports, performing routine patrol, working in retail sales area
Assists in planning and scheduling the Park's maintenance program
Practice and promote teamwork within the park and/or region, throughout the agency and with external agency stakeholders. Represents office as an active member on agency teams assigned throughout the year
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Position requires medium to heavy lifting, walking, and standing on uneven terrain, crawling, and working at heights
Exposure to weather conditions, cleaning agents, and other material used in maintaining park facilities and grounds
Ability to read and understand written procedures and directions
Ability to perform simple arithmetic computation
Ability to operate a variety of power tools
Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver's License
