Associate Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

Apply engineering principles to generate comprehensive outputs, such as drawings, reports, test plans, calculations, estimates, presentations, work instructions, and schematics, which can be effectively utilized by downstream operations including Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality Assurance, Planning, Program Management and Financials
Communicates engineering findings to technical and non-technical individuals in a manner that can be processed by the receiving parties
Builds any hardware and software necessary for the completion of the System in hands-on manner, as required

Required

Fundamental understanding of Electrical Engineering principles
Practical knowledge of electrical components (such as harnesses, sensors, instrumentations, connectors, wires, microcontrollers and batteries)
Ability to architecture and design Electrical System
Hands-on experience with electrical components and assemblies
Disciplined to document designs and analyses with written reports, presentations, and Engineering drawings
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and through writing
Ability to create and follow standard processes
Ability to read, understand and interpret technical information (e.g., drawings, handbooks, industry standards, and specifications)
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering
Some travel required
It is an essential requirement for the person in this role to have a legal right to work in the United States and be eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization and DoD Clearance
Must have the ability to stand, climb, occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs
Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine
Involves movement between departments, floors, and worksites to facilitate work
May be performing physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors

Preferred

Hands-on experience with soldering / harness building / testing PCBA boards
Experience in designing and building robotic and aircraft systems
AIAA Design Build Fly (DBF) experience
Formula SAE experience
Strong listening, questioning, clarifying and summarizing skills to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group settings
