Test Engineer III
Foxhole Technology is a recognized leader in providing cybersecurity and IT support for federal agencies. They are seeking a Cybersecurity Test Engineer III to support sensing development initiatives, perform integration testing, and validate system functionality and security requirements.

Responsibilities
Ability to develop test plans, procedures, automated test scripts, and detailed test reports that validate system functionality, interoperability, security requirements, and mission readiness
Must be able to work closely with system engineers, developers, cybersecurity engineers, and DISA stakeholders to support successful delivery of new sensing capabilities used to protect and defend the DoDIN
Knowledge of Test Planning & Execution to include: Support development of test plans, test procedures, and detailed test documentation for sensing capabilities under development
Contribute to Integration & Test Readiness Reviews (ITRR), System Requirements Reviews (SRR/SFR), and Design Reviews (PDR/CDR)
Develop and maintain automated regression test suites aligned with DevSecOps pipelines
Prepare test data, test scripts, and environment configurations required for testing events
Document test results including issues, severity, impact, and recommended corrective actions
Experience in Integration, Performance & Regression Testing to include executing integration and interoperability test events across multiple sensing platforms including OSP, FPCAP, ASV, and IDS
Validate sensor performance including throughput, response time, data integrity, and system stability
Conduct regression testing to ensure new code, patches, or configuration changes do not impact existing functionality
Validate data flows, metadata generation (e.g., Zeek logs), and data brokering integration with SIEM tools
Support performance testing by collecting system data under load, stress, or high-throughput scenarios
Conduct Verification & Validation testing to confirm compliance with system, functional, security, and operational requirements
Support Government IV&V, JITC coordination, and Operational Test (OT) activities as required
Assist with documenting discrepancies, defects, risk areas, and mitigation steps
Conduct testing in sensing lab environments, virtual/cloud environments, and operationally representative platforms
Support installation, configuration, and testing of hardware, VMs, sensing software, data brokers, and network components
Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot, replicate, and resolve issues discovered during testing
Provide test support during deployment pilots, sustainment updates, and field validation testing
Work closely with systems engineers, software developers, cybersecurity personnel, and PMO staff to ensure accurate test coverage
Provide real-time issue tracking, severity assessments, and status reporting to Government stakeholders
Support preparation of test briefs, test-readiness presentations, and Lessons Learned documentation
Qualification
Required
Active DoD Secret clearance required
Three (3)+ years of experience in software, systems, or cybersecurity testing
Experience testing cybersecurity tools, network sensors, or enterprise monitoring platforms
Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, ports/protocols, packet flows, firewalls, routing)
Experience with automated testing, scripting, or regression testing frameworks
Hands-on experience with tools such as ACAS, Nessus, Wireshark, Zeek, Splunk, or similar platforms
Familiarity with DoD systems, cyber defense operations, or RMF-related validation requirements
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to document complex test scenarios and results
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in a collaborative engineering environment
Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies including DoDD 8500.1 and DoDI 8510.01
DoD 8570 IAT II or IAM I certification required (Security+, CySA+, CISM, CASP, CISSP or equivalent)
Strong understanding of vulnerability management principles and security control implementation
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast paced, mission focused environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience supporting cross functional team
Proven ability to lead technical efforts and communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)
Preferred
Knowledge of DevSecOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines, and automated test integration
Experience supporting DISA, DoD cyber programs, or large scale operational sensor platforms is highly desired
