VaCom Technologies is a leading manufacturer of key components used in commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems. They are seeking an Assembly Team Member responsible for assembling large compressor parts and ensuring quality standards are met during the assembly process.

Responsibilities

Follow all prescribed and standard SAFETY regulations including wearing PPE at all appropriate times

Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to and improving upon 5S standards

Perform the operations of bearing pressing, stator pressing, mechanical assembly and wiring for in process compressors

Perform preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment. Hand tools, workstations, etc

Ensure the use of only approved tools and processes during the assembly operation

Perform inspections of parts and workmanship to ensure the quality of finished compressors

Engage in efforts with coworkers and management to continuously improve the assembly processes

Perform assembly operation for sub-assemblies (pistons, shaft seals, etc.)

Required

General knowledge of manufacturing work environment and associated safety practices

Mechanical inclination and/or experience using air powered hand tools

Acute awareness of detail to maintain high quality standards

Ability to read and recognize parts and part numbers and assemble them in the correct orientation/location/sequence as prescribed by work instructions and training

Able to work overtime for preventative maintenance activities

Be to work on time and daily

Ability to effectively meet and communicate with colleagues, the public and vendors

Daily contact requires courtesy, discretion and sound judgment

Good written communication skills and effective organizational skills

Ability to work collectively with others within the organization
