Manufacturing Engineer (Onsite)

Collins Aerospace is expanding its Business and First-Class seating programs and is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our operations in Medley, Florida. This role will be instrumental in preparing the manufacturing facility for increased production across several global airline customers, focusing on manufacturing readiness, process development, and successful program execution.

Responsibilities

Support new and ramping Business/First Class seating programs by preparing the manufacturing facility for increased production volumes
Perform make-versus-buy analyses to support program and production strategy decisions
Develop and structure Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOMs) and routings based on engineering data and change notices
Create and maintain clear, effective work instructions to support safe, efficient, and repeatable builds
Design or support the development of jigs, fixtures, tooling, and parts presentation strategies to improve manufacturing efficiency
Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize processes, reduce waste, and improve flow
Conduct routine engineering analyses and process studies related to new methods, materials, or standards
Prepare process specifications, production aids, factory work standards, and MRP support studies as required
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, supply chain, quality, and operations
Perform other related manufacturing engineering duties as needed to support program success

Required

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
Understanding of Lean manufacturing

Preferred

Experience supporting manufacturing projects
Hands-on experience designing jigs and/or fixtures to aid manufacturing processes
Experience troubleshooting manufacturing designs
Experience with SAP is a significant plus
Experience with Siemens NX or a similar CAD/modeling tool
Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred, but not required
