Responsibilities
Listen to our clients’ needs and provide value to them by evaluating options based upon the client’s needs and desires, first cost and life cycle cost
Communicate your design recommendations to our project team, construction contractors and vendors in presentations, meetings, via email and phone as necessary
Work alone on projects or work on a project team with other technical staff to design and detail new systems that are needed, assuring that the work is accurate and coordinated, and that the quality assurance measures have been followed
Provide timely services that meet the needs of the clients and the overall project schedule requirements
Participate in the pursuit of projects for new and existing clients by meeting with them to discuss the projects, conducting presentations and writing proposals
Perform Civil design calculations following office standards
Stay abreast of new design and analysis technologies and building materials through continuing education activities
Overall site planning
Site grading and volume calculations
Storm water management design
Storm water pollution control systems
Gravity sewer design
Pump station design
Pressure distribution systems
Roadway design
Develop specification documents
Qualification
Required
Minimum of a BS in Civil Engineering
1-4 years of experience in the design of industrial, municipal, and commercial facilities
Working knowledge of Civil analysis and design software (specifically Civil 3D preferred)
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to learn on the fly and adapt to change
Ability to find solutions to challenges
Sensitivity to the need to change personal and interpersonal behavior quickly
Ability to effectively communicate with and influence others
Ability to be counted on during tough times and not shirk responsibilities
