Responsibilities

Lead the planning, launch and execution of the newest iteration of the Global Management Program
Work with Haas faculty to plan and execute on summer study abroad courses
Provide Study Abroad programming and advising to Haas students from all four Haas Undergraduate Business Programs
Provide high quality academic advising to reciprocity students who are studying at Haas for a semester or the academic year
Plan and execute the Haas Case Competition experience
Manage stakeholder relationships connected to the launch and execution of the new iteration of the Global Management Program
Work with the UG Admissions team to plan and implement outreach programs and information sessions for Global Management Program (GMP) students
Advise prospective applicants on necessary academic preparation; appropriateness of program as it pertains to the prospective applicant's goals
Evaluate applicants for admissions; evaluate domestic and international transcripts for degree eligibility
Manage Global Management Program as lead academic advisor and enrollment coordinator; determine completion of the Global Management Concentration
Advise Assistant Dean and Faculty Director on formulation of college policies needing clarification and identifying solutions
Oversee the GMP Student Board and their community building activities, which includes budget recommendations and leadership development
Launch and manage the GMP Alumni Chapter, connecting GMP alumni and fostering opportunities for them to continue engagement with campus and current students
Plan and execute the Haas undergraduate case competition program, which includes selecting and training Haas upper division students to compete in external case competitions
Manage UGBA199, the training course that provides preparation for the case teams to engage in best practices around case analysis, case presentation, team dynamics and cultural relevancy in international business environments
Oversee enrollment and execution of the skills modules within the course; recruit and train student coaches
Make and execute on recommendations on improvements for the training and overall program management
Work with the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Programs to select and train staff and faculty advisors to coach and accompany teams at international and domestic case competitions
Manage orientations and info sessions for Global Management students and Haas reciprocity students
Advise reciprocity students on program choice and course load
Collaborate with Haas Academics Advisors, determine eligibility for study abroad courses in relation to Haas degree requirements by reviewing course syllabi as it pertains to degree requirements
Update eligible courses into the student Academic Progress Report
Guide faculty members to create their own Travel Study Program in conjunction with Berkeley Study Abroad and the Academic Senate
Facilitate and manage the selection and distribution of the Tom Tusher Scholarship Application
Manage concurrent enrollment according to program policies via Student Information Systems (SIS) and collaboration with Berkeley Haas Global Access Program (BHGAP) teams
Assist Haas Undergraduate Programs Assistant Dean and other staff with on-going special projects, pilots and strategic initiatives
Work on special programs as assigned
Attend classes that will enhance professional expertise
Serve on departmental and campus-wide committees as appropriate
Participate in activities that enhance the campus community and/or larger community to further University service

Required

Experience in supporting international education experience at the undergraduate or graduate level
Experience with formal academic advising and counseling techniques with undergraduate or graduate populations
Experience with planning and executing co-curricular activities or events for undergraduate or graduate students
Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving, identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance
Ability in problem identification, problem framing and reasoning, planning for course of action, and providing reports that require critical analysis of data
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations and issues, understand and summarize them, and formulate an appropriate course of action in conjunction with appropriate constituencies
Ability to work diplomatically with faculty and students during difficult situations
Ability to synthesize and then analyze data from research, reviews and surveys
Ability to develop original ideas to solve problems
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaborate with individuals and groups from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives
Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating a desire to establish and maintain positive & professional working relationships with colleagues, students and team members

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training

Preferred

Experience in creating and executing faculty-led study abroad experiences at the undergraduate or graduate level
Experience in development and/or fundraising for non-profit and/or educational organizations
Knowledge of and/or can quickly learn university processes and procedures, rules and regulations
Master's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
