The General Engineer will work closely with NASA TVAC engineers, providing training on operations and safety procedures related to thermal vacuum tests, while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Work with NASA TVAC engineers, training them on operations and safety procedures related to small TVAC chambers

While training, they will execute example Thermal Vacuum tests using the environmental test facilities at GSFC

Will work with a team of relevant technicians/engineers in accomplishing assigned tasks

Completes all test preparations and facility readiness tasks to meet Branch Quality System requirements

Available to give onsite training sessions and answer relevant questions

Provides recommendations to management regarding process and facility improvements and upgrades

Ensures that work practices comply with applicable safety and occupational health standards, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

Is aware of and complies with applicable safety requirements for work, including but not limited to, the Mechanical Systems Safety Manual as posted to a document management system

Works with safety engineer to understand requirements, assures hardware and personnel safety concerns are promptly and effectively addressed
