The Legal Assistant will provide exceptional work to financial institutions in creditor rights’ matters, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and client requirements while contributing to the operations team.

Responsibilities
Review title orders in accordance with company guidelines to evaluate the condition and insurability of titles. Analyze documents such as deeds, deeds of trust, mechanics liens, tax liens, judgments, assessments, and probates to determine their impact on the title
Conduct thorough research and review of public records and legal documents to establish ownership, legal descriptions, and any title-related issues. Ensure accuracy and completeness of the information
Identify title defects or discrepancies and develop appropriate solutions to resolve these issues, ensuring a clear title
Clearly explain the chain of title, exceptions, and requirements to clients. Provide detailed guidance on title issues as needed
Adhere to production targets and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Maintain high production standards and ensure timely completion of tasks in line with company expectations and deadlines
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management and participate in special projects as required
Qualification
Required
At least 5 years of experience in title examination, with specific expertise in Louisiana
Comprehensive understanding of real estate law, title examination processes, and the ability to interpret complex legal documents
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), excellent problem-solving abilities, and organizational proficiency
Familiarity with title examination procedures and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
High school diploma or equivalent
