Responsibilities
This laboratory-based position is focused on meeting the technical needs of our flexible packaging customers with innovation and technology pipeline in conjunction with our Client team
Extensive knowledge and experience within the flexible packaging from formulation to application of adhesive and coatings
Works closely with Business Development and Product Development to meet the technical needs for markets within our flexible packaging industry
Connect with external stakeholders (suppliers, customers, research institutes) to support development initiatives
Putting forth and testing ideas that support proliferation of breakthrough technologies
Is the recognized expert in industry trade associations, develops new to the world data/white papers to promote the company's expertise externally
Establishes and leverages external networks and partnerships (research/suppliers/OEM/boards/industry)
Develops and manages key innovation/application projects
Understand the latest flexible packaging technologies
Assists running pilot scale lamination and coating equipment to validate new innovative ideas and scale up to customer sites
Testing and market introductions of new products and new technologies
Qualification
Required
10 plus years of flexible packaging industry experience either in application engineering or product development
Application methods/development
30-50% travel requirement
Ability to create clear, accurate, and well-structured documentation, manuals, and process guides for technical and non-technical audiences
Proficient in compiling, analyzing, and presenting data-driven reports to support decision-making and performance tracking
Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver technical presentations to internal stakeholders, clients, and cross-functional teams
