Responsibilities

Design and implement packaging and shipping solutions that maximize trailer utilization, streamline material handling, and reduce transportation costs across 3M’s global logistics network
Document and standardize shipping and receiving procedures using industry best practices for global deployment and operational consistency
Partner with logistics operations, distribution centers, 3PLs, manufacturing, and procurement teams to ensure seamless integration of packaging solutions into end-to-end supply chain processes
Develop, document, and deploy LCL to FCL best practices, including standardized playbooks, RACIs, and governance models to enable consistent execution across regions, sites, and logistics partners
Execute LCL to FCL conversion strategies in top manufacturing sites, DCs, and consolidation centers, ensuring operational readiness, adherence to governance, and measurable conversion results
Ensure all packaging solutions meet internal and external standards for safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
Analyze logistics loading processes—including creating, decking, bracing/dunnage, and returnable—to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements
Define and standardize loading and unloading equipment requirements to support effective material handling across all global sites
Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics packaging efficiency and global load factor performance
Reports to Global Logistics, ensuring strategic alignment across cross-functional teams, facilitating container and trailer utilization
Leverages Power BI analytics to identify trends, underutilized nodes and lanes, and drive continuous improvement in Load Factor Metrics (LFM), with a goal of improving baseline performance to an 80% utilization rate
Develops decision-support tools, including prioritization matrices, process maps, and implementation timelines to accelerate the rollout of load factor initiatives and inform site visit planning
Prepares and participates in onsite events including Vendor/Supplier partners, Distribution Centers, and Manufacturing plants
Partners with Global & Area Transportation teams to ensure consistent operational execution of improvement plans at sites to drive measurable improvements in shipping efficiency

Required

Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Supply Chain/Logistics, Operations Research, Business Administration (completed and verified prior to start)
Five (5) years of experience in logistics packaging or engineering roles in a private, public, government or military environment
Require minimum of 5 years of project and program management, with proven experience developing and implementing strategic and transformational initiatives worldwide
Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics packaging or related engineering roles
Strong understanding of packaging materials, design, and transportation/logistics
Experience working with cross-functional teams and external partners (e.g., 3PLs, Freight Forwarders)
Proven self-starter with the ability to operate independently and effectively in complex, fast-paced, and global environments
Deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, including planning, logistics, manufacturing, sourcing, and inventory management
Demonstrated analytical-driven mindset, with the ability to convert complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive measurable business impact. Proficiency in data analysis and performance tracking tools
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) with strong executive communication and presentation skills
Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with a track record of driving alignment across functions, geographies, and senior leadership levels
Strategic and business-oriented mindset, able to connect analytics, operations, and financial drivers to enable data-informed decision-making
Resilient and adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity and capable of creating clarity and direction for teams in dynamic environments

Preferred

Master's degree preferred
Relevant certifications such as CSCP, CLTD, SC Pro, APICS, and/or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt are highly valued
Strong project management expertise, including experience with PMO governance, portfolio management, and agile methodologies
Knowledge of global logistics standards and regulatory requirements is a plus
Prior experience in consulting, operational excellence, or large-scale transformation programs is highly desirable
