Energy Policy Analyst
The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) is seeking an Energy Policy Analyst to contribute to the state's clean energy and climate goals. The analyst will support the planning, development, and implementation of demand response and demand flexibility management policies, conducting analyses and making recommendations on regulatory and policy issues.

Responsibilities
Support the planning, development and implementation, and oversight of demand response and demand flexibility management policies and programs
Conduct economic, policy and/or technical analyses and research associated with demand response programs, pilots and policies
Make recommendations of regulatory, policy and technical issues regarding the CPUC proceedings and/or work with a team that oversees implementation of policies and programs that result from these CPUC and legislative processes
Support the Demand Response section in the development of policy-oriented work products that are used to advise and assist high-level decision-makers such as Commissioners, Judges, and Energy Division management
Perform other work as necessary, such as writing and presenting reports, engaging with external stakeholders, coordinating with other California organizations and agencies, and responding to outside inquiries
Qualification
Required
Eligibility for the classification(s)
Experience related to public utilities and/or transportation in the areas of economics, finance, or policy
Experience in researching and analyzing complex energy policy issues, including technical/economic/financial aspects, focused on the electricity system
Experience with demand side program evaluations including baselines
Completed STD 678 application form
Submission of a copy of transcript or diploma if using education to meet minimum qualifications
Verification of United States course/degree equivalency for foreign education
Complete employment information on the STD 678 state application with dates, duties and responsibilities, and contact names and phone numbers of supervisors
Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) addressing specific questions
Current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678 or Electronic State Employment Application
