Environmental or Civil Engineer
Geosyntec Consultants is an innovative engineering and consulting firm seeking a Civil/Environmental Engineer for their Washington, DC, or Columbia, MD office. The role involves managing complex civil and environmental projects, including technical evaluations, design, permitting, and construction, with a focus on water management and geotechnical challenges.

Responsibilities
Developing and/or reviewing technical drawings, specifications, engineering documents, and analyses for civil design, site development, grading, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment controls, especially as related to environmental sites
Completing or reviewing civil and stormwater management design packages, including detailed hydrologic and hydraulic analyses
Preparing stormwater and erosion and sediment control designs for permitting in the State of Maryland and local Maryland jurisdictions
Performing stormwater infrastructure design and analysis
Performing fieldwork such as soil, surface water and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance
Assisting with environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting
Conducting data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures
Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals
Performing task-level or project management responsibilities
Developing strong collaborative relationships and interacting with client representatives and internal Geosyntec colleagues
Coordinating work efforts with multi-disciplinary project teams; and
Supporting lead generation, business development, recruiting, staff development, and mentoring consistently with our sell-manage-do business model
Drive personal , company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or related discipline
At least 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience performing and reviewing civil design and site development
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed
Excellent writing and communication skills
Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel
Preferred
Advanced degree in the same
Professional registration (i.e., P.E.)
Familiarity with stormwater and erosion and sediment control regulations and understanding of the permitting process in Maryland
Experience with relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil3D, HydroCAD, SWMM, HY8, and HEC-RAS)
