Key Account Manager

The Key Account Manager will drive scientific discovery for life science customers by performing technical demonstrations, managing customer relationships, and generating forecasts within the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

Performing technical demonstrations, training, installations, customer support on equipment & software as well as attending and participating in Regional and Local Product Shows
Generate accurate monthly forecasting for the assigned territory. Results focused – consistently monitor territory metrics and take ownership of changes needed to succeed
Perform lead generation activities including but not limited to, seminars, work-days with Channel partners, prospecting within assigned territory
Results focused – consistently monitor territory metrics and take ownership of changes needed to succeed while maintaining an accurate and up-to-date customer database in Salesforce.com

Required

Bachelor's Degree or higher
Outstanding prospecting, territory, lead management, negotiation and closing skills
Ability to travel 40-50% within the field in assigned territory
Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 25lb, any other physical requirements

Preferred

A minimum of 5 years of field laboratory diagnostics sales experience or selling into the life science or drug discovery industry is preferred. Pharmaceutical or Medical Device sales does not meet this qualification requirement
Knowledge of absorbance, fluorescence and luminescence, Western Blot & Imaging technology is highly preferred
Experience in PowerPoint, Excel, Word & Salesforce.com CRM Database is preferred, with demonstrated data analysis capability
Familiarity with existing academic research, big and small biopharma, CRO and government accounts in assign territory
Previous laboratory experience
Key Account Management experience
