Special Events Sales Manager
Platinum Resource Group is a professional consulting firm providing resources to Fortune 1000 clients. They are seeking a Special Events Sales Manager responsible for selling special event opportunities and achieving sales goals while collaborating with various teams to ensure successful events.

Responsibilities
Proactively pitch and book private special events across assigned market segments and available venues
Meet or exceed individual sales goals and contribute to annual team sales targets
Maintain consistent sales call and networking activity while tracking detailed client information
Develop event recruitment strategies to expand creative programming and special event content
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accuracy, consistency, and optimal financial outcomes for events
Monitor industry trends and recommend new business opportunities aligned with strategic objectives
Respond promptly to inbound phone and electronic inquiries within established service expectations
Build and maintain a targeted list of prospective client organizations within assigned categories
Promote a positive venue reputation within the local community and professional organizations
Draft event contracts and maintain accurate files and databases for current and past events
Coordinate event scheduling within event management systems and communicate details to internal teams
Conduct site tours for prospective social, corporate, and convention clients and event partners
Communicate contract and event details to internal departments, including participation in recurring planning meetings
Proactively solicit new business through cold calls, client meetings, presentations, and market prospecting
Identify key clients to develop preferred status programs, discounts, and incentives
Manage and track account activity from initial inquiry through contract execution
Confirm space availability, negotiate contract terms, and close event sales
Develop proficiency in internal sales, event, and calendaring systems
Represent the organization at local and national industry events and professional associations
Support the development of special events sales collateral and marketing campaigns
Monitor changes in the special events and hospitality industry and adjust sales strategies accordingly
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
5+ years of experience generating profitable client relationships within the entertainment or hospitality industries
Knowledge of local and regional markets, special event operations, and guest relations
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and event or catering software
Ability to delegate, follow up, and communicate effectively with staff, clients, and guests
Ability to work on site in a fast-paced, client-facing environment
Preferred
Experience with event management and calendaring systems preferred
