Responsibilities

Analyzes chemical, biological or microbiological products, raw materials, in-process materials, release test samples or stability samples in support of the company's quality program
Prepares, cleans, disinfects, and/or sterilizes instruments, materials, products, and/or supplies
Follows protocols and regulations in order to clean, store, and/or deliver products, supplies, and/or instruments
Interprets and evaluates the analyses in terms of accuracy and precision compared against established specifications and recommends and implements corrective action where necessary
Develops, validates, and implements controlled environment methods
Applies existing techniques and procedures with recommendations and implementation of modification for improved efficiency, or devises and develops new analytical methods and techniques
Performs qualitative tests or quantitative assays on samples using techniques that vary from use of standard analytical equipment to highly modern and automated instrumentation
May also be involved in establishing requirements for the transfer of methodology from R&D

Required

Requires a Baccalaureate degree and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR PhD with 0 years relevant experience

Preferred

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Microbiology, or related technical discipline
Familiarity with FDA, EU and other international regulations, standards and guidelines governing sterilization of medical devices
Experience conducting clean room contamination investigations
Strong familiarity with ISO 14644 series, EU 17141 / ISO 14698
Experience with microbiological laboratory test methods including bioburden, BET, microbial identification, EO residual testing
Experience in the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry
Excellent problem-solving skills
Proven project management and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and judgment skills
Ability to work in a team environment, including cross-functional teams, and exert influence without alienating others
Computer proficiency using word processors, spreadsheet, and project management
Ability to apply advanced scientific principles
