Associate Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Chmura Economics & Analytics is looking for an Associate Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to assist in the operation and evolution of their SaaS platform for labor market data. This role involves managing IT support, systems administration, and cloud engineering tasks while collaborating with various teams to enhance infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities
Provide remote and on-site IT support for internal staff using laptops, mobile devices, and core productivity applications
Help identify recurring issues and suggest process or tooling improvements to reduce them over time
Manage Active Directory and Entra ID/Azure AD objects: users, groups, security, and group policies
Administer the Microsoft 365 stack: Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and licensing
Administer and maintain on-premise infrastructure, including Dell servers, storage, and network components
Manage Intune for device enrollment, policies, compliance, and software deployment for our fleet of laptops
Handle user lifecycle operations: onboarding, off-boarding, access provisioning/deprovisioning, and hardware prep/returns
Support core infrastructure services: DNS, DHCP, VPN, file-sharing, MFA, and LAN/WAN networking
Participate in security response: investigate alerts, contain and remediate issues, and assist with patching and hardening
Maintain and improve monitoring and observability using tools like Prometheus and Logstash
Document configurations, standard operating procedures, and runbooks
Assist in designing and implementing infrastructure solutions on Microsoft Azure, including resource provisioning, networking, identity, and security
Help administer and support AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service): deployments, upgrades, cluster/node maintenance, and troubleshooting
Work with Azure DevOps pipelines and repositories: participate in CI/CD workflows, infrastructure deployments, and automation
Support and maintain our core data and application infrastructure
Automate routine tasks using scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) to improve reliability and reduce manual effort
Collaborate with other engineering teams to provide the infrastructure and tools they need to deliver features, data, and functionality
Participate in solution design discussions, bringing a practical operational perspective that balances reliability, security, longevity, and performance
Qualification
Required
2–4 years of experience in an IT support, systems administration, or similar role in a business environment
Demonstrated hands-on experience managing Windows-based environments
Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory administration experience
Experience with Azure in a production setting
Familiarity with virtualization (preferably Hyper-V) and server hardware
Experience managing or supporting Intune or a similar endpoint management platform
Comfort working with core infrastructure and networking technologies: DNS, DHCP, VPN, basic LAN/WAN, firewalls
Exposure to containerization and Kubernetes: deployments, pods, services, and basic troubleshooting
Experience with or strong interest in DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code)
Ability to read, understand, and apply technical documentation from vendors and open-source projects
Strong troubleshooting skills, ability to trace issues across endpoints, network, OS, and applications
Great communication and customer service skills; able to talk to both technical and non-technical colleagues
