Responsibilities

Purchase materials, supplies, and services on the most favorable terms for the organization
Qualifying our suppliers, monitoring and ensuring our supplier quality and delivery
Evaluating bids, negotiating prices and terms for purchased goods and services
Tracking purchases, and maintaining a current database of our supplier information
Provide subject matter expertise on complex procurements of significant dollar value
Independently manage multiple service type contracts
Help with the planning of the process for the purchasing function, and support programs
Provide supply base expertise to SNC proposals and programs
Ensure accurate requirements are defined and understood and accepted by the supplier(s)
Foster and lead supplier-related communication and relationships
Act as the Point of Contact between SNC / Program(s) and the supply base
Own the relationship between SNC and your suppliers
Lead negotiations to include, but not limited to, deliverable requirements, terms and conditions, pricing, schedule, and milestone development
Document acquisitions and maintain files in compliance with government regulations, company policy, and best business practices
Track progress on subcontracts/POs: progress against schedule, available funding, actual and forecasted spending
Identify risk and opportunities, and as assigned, develop risk management/mitigation plans and strategies
Status supply base activity to programs, SCM organization
Develop and drive given Category strategy integration with stakeholders across the BA(s) and enterprise
Support department goals including, but not limited to: on-time delivery, negotiations, and PR processing time

Required

Bachelor's Degree in a related field and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience
Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
Procurement experience

Preferred

Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) compliance
Strong understanding of all aspects of finance and accounting related to procurement
Complete understanding of the full cycle of procurement processes
