Production Engineer

Responsibilities
Prioritize and communicate risks to equipment reliability and long-term operability of equipment. “Own the Potential Business Interrupters (PBI) process”
Coordinates equipment strategies that improve long-term uptime of the plant. This includes identification of the critical spare equipment/spare parts and determination of their inventory parameters, based on asset care Strategy program
Performs data analysis for lost production, correlates the reports with equipment reliability, and/or repair frequencies to identify bad actors and works with SME to develop measures to improve or replace the assets
Leads or takes part in cross-functional teams, e.g., Reliability Centered Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis and Six Sigma Teams, Investigations, or Equipment Improvement Teams
Prepares and submits monthly reports summarizing the status of reliability activities and PBI to the Manufacturing Manager
Leads the Capital project input and budgeting process for his/her area of responsibility
Supports Gate keeper to Develop and Prioritize maintenance outage and turnaround scopes. Coordinates with Maintenance & Reliability and project engineering teams for execution of work during outages
Manages Management of Change (MOC) process for assigned areas
Supports Mechanical Integrity (MI) inspection program to own the risk and to coordinate strategies for mitigation/elimination of risk, including Piping, tanks, vessels and structural equipment. Prioritizes corrective actions and follow-up requirements identified
Responsible for equipment improvement and complex maintenance repairs coordination with third party engineering partners
Responsible for Turnaround (TA) scope, including scope development, prioritization, and change management in TA Preparation and execution
Participate and engage in T2a, and T2b LSB Way process
Qualification
Required
Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical engineering degree with 3 years' experience
Experience within the PSM covered continuous Chemical/Process or Petrochemical Industry is required
Working knowledge of fixed, rotating, and electrical equipment failure modes and works with operations team to perform failure mode analysis and root cause investigation with cross-functional team's input
The incumbent should have experience developing solid working relationships with operation personnel and must be willing to teach and mentor production personnel
Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders
Willingness to work in a 24/7 continuous chemical processing facility around dust, chemicals, high temperature, loud noises, and running equipment
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (FRC, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots and hearing protection) in addition to full face respirator as necessary in emergencies
Must be able to lift as much as 25 lbs
