Board Program Coordinator

Responsibilities
Provide support for the Board of Visitors (BOV) Program, which consists of 14 Boards of Visitors, one for each of Howard University’s Schools and Colleges
Support and manage assigned administrative and operational activities related to the oversight of the Board of Visitors Program
Support the maintenance and ongoing updates of BOV operational documents, templates, trackers, and reporting tools
Support the Director on BOV meetings and assist in planning the Biennial Congress of the Board of Visitors Program
Provide comprehensive support for the Alumni Leadership Academy (“the Academy”), which is designed to facilitate meaningful engagement between Board of Trustee members and the alumni community
Schedule, plan, and execute virtual and in-person Academy sessions and engagement opportunities
Coordinate logistics; assisting with the identification, scheduling, and management of speakers and facilitators; ensuring timely communications; and serving as the principal point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
Manage and staff the Academy’s annual application and selection cycle, including scheduling selection committee meetings, tracking applicant and cohort data, maintaining program records and keeping Academy communications and website content current
Provide broad support for TCIAC, which acts in an advisory role to the Governance Committee of the Board to assist in broadening the pool of potential candidates considered by the Committee
Attend all meetings of TCIAC, keep records, and track proposed candidates for volunteer roles at the University, including candidates for BOV membership and for trusteeship
Provide additional support as requested, including for any additional community engagement initiatives emanating from the Board
Participate in providing staff support for all regular and special meetings of the Board
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
Strong programmatic experience
Organized, detail oriented, and able to take direction, follow through on instructions, and prioritize tasks based on organizational priorities and urgencies
Solid writing skills and excellent interpersonal skills
Must possess a high degree of discretion, confidentiality and judgment
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and document management
Able to work effectively under time-pressure, shifting priorities or Board-driven deadlines
Preferred
Project Management experience preferred
Must be strongly team oriented
