Responsibilities

Oversee material and equipment inventory and restocking

Oversee yard layout and equipment line up

Responsible for the organization of the yard including general yard maintenance and yard clean up

Loading and unloading material on/off of delivery trucks or company vehicles

Clean and organize shop work area: sweep and clean work surfaces, clean vehicles, store parts, empty and discard garbage

May operate power-driven equipment that may be needed to maintain the yard; such as leaf blowers, weed trimer, forklift, etc

May perform minor repairs on equipment as directed

Comply with company and federal safety rules, policies and procedures to include wearing required safety equipment, PPE, responding to safety concerns and taking appropriate action

May be required to handle hazardous materials

Assist with safety protocols for backing and lifting

Perform other job-related duties as requested by your supervisor

Required

Knowledge of the safe and proper use of equipment and tools

Able to maintain a clean, organized, clutter free yard, inventory skills a plus

Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule with minimal direction

Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and verbal instructions

Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency

Valid Class C Driver's License with no driving restrictions

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Successful applicants must pass a drug screen and background check before beginning employment

Employee is frequently required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and talk or hear

The employee is often required to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds individually, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue and to effectively jump, sprint or throw an object

Must be able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to visually inspect machines

Employee may be required to drive a motor vehicle and travel to various locations

Preferred

Class A Driver's License a plus

Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in heavy/highway construction work, a plus

Certification and ability to operate a forklift and front-end loader a plus

Mechanically inclined a plus
