Senior Solar Project Manager – Commercial & Industrial
Talent Edge Recruiting is seeking a Senior Commercial Project Manager to lead large-scale commercial rooftop solar projects. This role involves overseeing multiple high-value projects, mentoring project managers, and collaborating with various teams to ensure project success from post-contract through construction and close-out.

Responsibilities
Lead and manage commercial rooftop solar construction projects ranging from 500kW to 25MW
Own project schedules using critical path methodology, ensuring milestones are met from design through close-out
Oversee multiple concurrent projects with a portfolio-management mindset
Manage subcontractors and vendors including scope development, qualification, contract negotiation, performance, and compliance
Monitor project budgets, schedules, risks, and change orders
Coordinate closely with procurement, warehouse, engineering, and construction teams to ensure material availability and efficient mobilization
Provide clear visibility into project status, risks, and timelines to internal leadership and external stakeholders
Ensure compliance with permitting, safety standards, electrical codes, and quality expectations
Mentor and support Project Managers and Project Coordinators, helping build team depth and capability
Participate in hiring and development of project support staff
Conduct periodic site visits to support field teams and maintain operational alignment
Serve as a leadership backup when needed and collaborate closely with sales and operations leaders
Qualification
Required
5+ years of commercial solar project management experience (rooftop solar required)
Hands-on knowledge of commercial rooftop PV systems
Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, schedules, and budgets
Strong understanding of solar PV systems, inverters, battery storage, and permitting
Working knowledge of electrical codes and building standards
Proven experience leading and mentoring teams
OSHA 10 certification (required)
OSHA 30 certification (required within 30 days if not current)
Ability to travel occasionally, including limited overnights
Preferred
Construction or electrical background
Experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, Google Suite, or similar project/ERP tools
