Fleet Human Resources Manager

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection is dedicated to redefining ultra-luxury hospitality at sea. The Fleet Human Resources Manager provides strategic and operational support to shipboard HR Managers, ensuring the implementation of HR policies and fostering a high-performing workplace culture.

Responsibilities

Supports the selection, onboarding, performance management, and continuous development of shipboard Human Resources Managers, Human Resources Specialists, and Purser's Clearance
Oversees and ensures consistency in HR SOPs, policies, and service delivery across all yachts in alignment with Forbes and Gold Standards, leveraging leading-edge practices
Provides guidance and oversight to ensure full compliance with the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006 and all applicable regulatory frameworks
Conducts or coordinates investigations into HR-related concerns and complaints, including those received via the Hotline
Advises and supports shipboard HR Managers in employee relations matters, including corrective actions, grievances, and conflict resolution
Partners with Marine, Hotel, and Shoreside leaders to develop strategies that ensure a healthy, respectful, productive, and efficient workplace culture
Develops and maintains shipboard HR reporting and dashboards to identify trends, promote accountability, and improve decision-making
Leads the creation and activation of shipboard employee welfare programs and calendars that promote engagement and well-being and increase standardization and teamwork
Collaborates with the Yacht Planning Team to ensure yachts are fully staffed with qualified, certified, and culturally aligned Ladies and Gentlemen, directly coordinating the scheduling of the Shipboard HR team
Partners with Learning & Development and Performance Management areas to consult and support the execution of initiatives, including SOPs, reporting, and facilitation
Acts as a trusted advisor and HR business partner across all levels, demonstrating the ability to influence without direct authority
Fills in as Shipboard HR Manager to cover any gaps in coverage as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field required
Minimum seven (7) years of progressive HR experience, with at least three (3) years in a leadership capacity supporting shipboard or remote HR teams
Thorough understanding of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006 and seafarer regulations
Strong knowledge of HR best practices, including investigations, corrective action, training delivery, adult learning, and policy development
Experience in a luxury hospitality or maritime setting with a strong grasp of high-touch service environments
Proven success managing HR projects across multiple locations with limited supervision
Proficiency in HRIS and ATS systems and the ability to create actionable reporting from workforce data
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence across functions and levels; written and spoken English language mastery required
Strong emotional intelligence, discretion, and cultural sensitivity in supporting a globally diverse workforce
Possession, or the ability to possess, all seafarer-required documentation and certifications
