Responsibilities

Own airframe and structural architecture across an aircraft platform

Define and drive structural concepts, load paths, and integration strategies from early design through production

Lead cross-disciplinary packaging of electrical, avionics, propulsion, and mechanical systems into the airframe

Serve as the primary owner of configuration for physical aircraft hardware, including part definition, change control, and design traceability

Review and approve structural designs, layouts, and configuration changes

Review and approve mechanical drawings for assigned platforms, ensuring architectural consistency, adherence to standards, and design quality

Guide trade studies and technical decisions that impact performance, weight, cost, and manufacturability

Mentor and provide technical direction to Senior and Mid-level Mechanical Engineers

Act as a technical interface between Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program leadership

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

10+ years of experience in aerospace or UAVs

Deep experience with aircraft structures and airframe integration

Proven experience taking hardware from concept through production

Strong background in system-level mechanical design and configuration control

Expert-level proficiency with CAD and engineering drawing release practices

Working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)

Bachelor's Degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) from an accredited university

At least 10 years engineering experience in aerospace or related technology field with at least 3 years' experience in a rapid development environment
