Responsibilities

Administers the activity of the Center on a day-to-day basis and assists the Center Director, faculty, and trainees to achieve their goals
Manages and supervises project teams and facilitates interactions among faculty, staff, and trainees in each Center
Coordinates research, community engagement, education and outreach, and research translation activities across the Center by actively engaging with the faculty, trainees and outside stakeholders
Defines project mission and vision, establishes strategic alignment, and identifies stakeholders in partnership with the leadership teams of each Center
Manages project portfolios in line with business strategies and in accordance with project management standards
Periodically conducts meetings with stakeholders to schedule and coordinate activities in the Center on a weekly, monthly and annual basis as determined in collaboration with the leadership team of the Center
Establishes goals for project delivery and prepares and submits monthly (as needed) and annual progress reports to NIH
Manages projects in line with business strategies
Manages project quality and assurance for the Center
Facilitates interactions between Center components
Collects and organizes information
Coordinates project resources and monitors budgets and spending in partnership with business offices at Texas A&M University and other partner institutions
Develops, implements, and tracks budgets
Tracks deliverables, publications, and other measures of success
Works with External Advisory Board for the Center to facilitate external oversight of the activities
Coordinates reporting of research across the Center
Collects and prepares data for use in official correspondence with NIH
Maintains the website content and social media
Analyzes project requirements and outcomes
Provides periodic evaluations and reports for Center’s components
Prepares annual progress reports to the National Institutes of Health
Supports the communication with NIH and other Complement-AIRE Centers, establishing partnerships with external stakeholders
Attends online and in-person meetings required by the NIH program officials for Center administrators
Performs other activities as assigned by the leadership team of the Center

Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Five years of related experience in project management (including related supervisory experience as needed)

Preferred

Master of Science degree or higher in a related field
Experience with large-scale multi-component project(s)
Experience with managing projects for multiple institutional and/or private clients
Experience with complex projects related to biomedical sciences
Experience with administering complex projects in an academic setting
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
Knowledge of standard proofreading
Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
