Category Manager

Responsibilities
Develop, plan, and implement procurement strategy focused on optimizing costs, quality, delivery, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products for the NonMetallics Category
Ensure execution in accordance with company, procurement, and supply base management instructions and procedures
Recommend frame agreements to management and execute upon approval
Leverage the Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing process for implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy and ensuring that the supply base/suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements
Manage planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost budgets, emerging country spending, and savings forecasts
Negotiate agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renew price lists, and terms and conditions
Ensure identification, investigation, and selection of appropriate suppliers (focusing on quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability) in accordance with company policies
Coordinate sustainability efforts for the team with internal and external stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related fields
Minimum 5 years experience in Category Management or Strategic Sourcing
Preferred experience in the North American non-metallics Commodities market as well as deep knowledge around manufacturing processes in plastic resin raw materials, plastic injection molding, and other non metallic categories
Skilled in true end to end category strategies, complex supplier negotiations with focus on total cost of ownership and developing suppliers via Supplier Relationship Management processes
Experience collaborating in diverse cross functional teams and enjoy leading cross functional teams to drive change and achieve common goals
Strong communication skills; English
Ability to travel up to 25% (domestic and international)
Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
