Human Rights Watch is an international human rights monitoring and advocacy organization seeking a Recruiter to lead key global recruitment processes. This role involves managing recruitment activities, crafting job descriptions, and ensuring diversity in candidate pools while reporting to the Associate Director of Talent Acquisition and Global Mobility.

Responsibilities

Lead recruitment processes for assigned business units by crafting job descriptions, setting recruitment processes and timelines with hiring teams, posting jobs on Greenhouse and external job boards, reviewing candidates, scheduling interviews, and preparing offers
Liaise effectively with colleagues on the People and Culture team, within Operations, and across the organization to ensure effective coordination of recruitment activities
Craft compelling job descriptions and post for vacancies, ensuring that responsibilities are in line with seniority level
Guide hiring managers and hiring teams through the recruitment process, including by conducting check-ins and advising on outreach strategy and interview processes
Implement processes to mitigate unconscious bias in our candidate assessment process, facilitate diverse and robust candidate pools, and help to ensure an inclusive and positive candidate experience
Identify sources to strengthen candidate pools for open positions
Review applications, set up interviews, and provide guidance on final selection as needed
Train staff on recruitment processes and systems, and contribute to the creation and distribution of virtual trainings on recruitment-related topics
Track recruitment progress and assist the Associate Director with providing periodic updates to organizational leadership about recruitment process and open vacancies
Operate in compliance with organizational policies and protocols; and
Perform other responsibilities as required

Required

A bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience in human resources or a related field is required
A minimum five years of relevant experience, particularly recruiting in non-profit settings, is preferred
Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff within the organization
Highly organized and detail oriented and ability to execute projects with minimal guidance
Solid judgment, discretion, and critical thinking skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and to think proactively and holistically
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; proficiency in another language is desirable
Experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems; experience with Greenhouse is a plus
Strong computer knowledge including Windows and MS Office applications
Commitment to HRW's mission and human rights values
