Responsibilities
Provides strategic leadership and oversight for the operational functions within Tampa General Hospital’s academic medical center
Ensures that service policies and practices are aligned with the organization’s overall mission, vision, and goals
Maintains safe, efficient, and high-quality operational activities that contribute to the hospital's success and sustainability
Ensures all operational activities align with the organization’s shared purpose, vision, and core values
Leads the development and execution of operational action plans that establish objectives, define strategies, and outlines in detail the operational actions needed to meet the defined objectives
Development and implementation of operating and capital budgets, which include oversight of billing, revenues and expenditures
Manages the functions of departments with hospital throughput and length of stay as overall objectives of efficiency
Optimizes performance of hospital operational areas financially, operationally and across quality metrics
Ensures all essential services comply with relevant healthcare regulations, accreditation standards and safety guidelines
Oversees strategic alignment of operational functions including CareComm, Transfer Center, Pharmacy, Lab Services, Injury Prevention, Clinical Nutrition Services, Linen Management, Patient Transport, Service Response Center, Environmental Services and House of Coffee
Partners with other hospital leaders to understand their needs and integrate essential services seamlessly into overall hospital operations
Qualification
Required
Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field
Ten (10) years of progressive experience within hospital Support Services, Operations, or related experience with five (5) years in a leadership capacity
Knowledge of healthcare regulations, safety standards and industry best practices
Outstanding human relations and leadership skills with an ability to function in a team environment
Must have broad understanding of mission, programs and operations across the spectrum of clinical care activities
Ability to influence, adapt approaches, and deliver results
Demonstrates knowledge in preparing and managing budgets for projects that will impact multiple departments and hospital entities
Skill in managing and tracking projects to successful completion
Leads the development and execution of operational action plans that establish objectives, define strategies, and outlines in detail the operational actions needed to meet the defined objectives

Manage the master facility plan, including changes, upgrades, and execution to support ongoing facility needs
Manages the functions of departments with hospital throughput and length of stay as overall objectives of efficiency

Ensure all essential services comply with relevant healthcare regulations, accreditation standards and safety guidelines
