Financial Manager, Leo, Long Range Planning
Amazon is launching a new Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite initiative and is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support the Global Long-Range Planning team. The role involves translating strategic investment roadmaps into financial insights, developing long-range financial models, and collaborating with various stakeholders to drive operational efficiency and decision-making.

Responsibilities
Design, develop & maintain long range financial models to project and evaluate business performance against key goals and metrics
Project manage financial deliverables aligned to business objectives
Create and implement financial and operating performance metrics, identifying key call outs
Use solid financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models, interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and influence leaders
Analyze complex financial data and provide accurate and timely reports to key stakeholders, highlighting key insights and recommendations
Identify root causes of data discrepancies and deliver a solution
Educate business partners on financial and non-financial trade-offs
Make thoughtful judgement calls in ambiguous environments where the data may be scarce or difficult to procure
Participate in finance initiatives, including but not limited to process improvements, ad hoc analyses, and preparation of periodic reporting activities
Qualification
Required
5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred
6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
MBA, or CPA
Knowledge of SQL/ETL
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
