Director of Development

Legal Services of Northern Virginia (LSNV) is a large, high-volume legal aid organization in Virginia. They are seeking a full-time Director of Development to develop and execute a coordinated fundraising strategy and increase and diversify existing fundraising programs to support their mission.

Fundraising

Responsibilities

Develops and executes a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including, but not limited to, identification, attraction, and retention of major donors for a multi-year campaign
Designs and implements fundraising programs and events
Researches potential donors and contacts
Coordinates meetings with donors and potential donors of LSNV, including necessary follow-up
Coordinates and enlists volunteers for “friend-raising” events
Works closely with LSNV’s Executive Director, staff, Board of Directors, and campaign committee members to support fundraising efforts
Creates and disseminates electronic and print fundraising and promotional materials (e.g., brochures, newsletters, social media posts, annual reports, etc.)
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree, required
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant fundraising experience; experience creating, implementing or growing a multi-year campaign aimed at major donors, preferred; experience engaging donors from the legal field or Northern Virginia, preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Relevant social media and technology skills
Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail

Preferred

experience engaging donors from the legal field or Northern Virginia, preferred
