Director, Deployment Strategy

Meta is seeking a highly experienced Director of Deployment Strategy to define and lead how data center capacity is deployed across the global portfolio. This role is accountable for translating long-range capacity demand into executable deployment strategies that balance speed, cost, risk, and supply-chain reality at scale.

Responsibilities

Translate long-range demand signals into phased deployment plans with clear assumptions on timing, delivery model, and supply enablement
Lead intake, prioritization, and scenario planning to evaluate deployment options across markets and programs
Own trade-space analysis for DEC (speed vs cost vs risk vs scalability) to inform broader IDC and infra capacity decisions
Lead capacity supply development to ensure labor, manufacturing, and contractor capacity is aligned to forward deployment plans
Develop capacity enablement strategies that support surge, regional expansion, and programmatic delivery
Lead the global estimating organization as a strategic planning capability
Ensure consistent methodologies, benchmarks, escalation logic, and confidence levels that support deployment-stage decisions
Use cost intelligence to shape deployment strategies, delivery models, and market sequencing
Develop DEC supply-chain strategy, including vendor readiness, scaling needs, long term commitments for resources and regional supply scaling
Analyze and define deployment-appropriate commercial strategies, including contracting structures, risk allocation, and delivery models
Support negotiations with Preconstruction where deployment strategy materially impacts commercial outcomes
Ensure projects entering design/preconstruction are deployment-ready, with clear assumptions on cost, schedule, supply, and delivery approach
Establish portfolio-level reporting on deployment health, including readiness, constraints, confidence, and risk
Communicate strategic insights, scenario outcomes, and recommendations to senior leadership
Provide early warning on systemic risks impacting deployment velocity or optionality
Lead and develop leaders across estimating, capacity supply, and supply-chain planning
Build scalable operating models, clear interfaces, and a strong succession bench

Required

15+ years of experience in preconstruction, commercial management, or a related field within the data center, critical infrastructure, or large-scale construction industry
Proven track record of leading and developing large, impactful teams
Demonstrated experience in establishing and executing complex commercial strategies and multi-billion dollar deals
Experience managing ambiguity and navigating complex project challenges
Experience creating and driving vision and strategy within a large organization
Familiar with large capital programs, ground-up construction and greenfield site development as well as retrofit construction
Experience managing portfolio-level health, including budget, schedule, and risk, and communicate key insights to leadership

Preferred
