ANALYST II

The California Department of Developmental Services is seeking an Analyst II to support the Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and other Early Start activities. The role involves data analysis, coordinating interagency meetings, and acting as a liaison for community resources, while also drafting policies related to developmental disabilities services.

Responsibilities

Perform and lead assignments related to the Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), State Systemic Improvement Plan (SSIP) efforts, and other Early Start related activities
Analyze data sets related to the Annual Performance Report (APR)
Coordinate interagency meetings
Interact with the community and act as an SSIP community liaison for Regional Centers and Family Resources Centers
Perform a variety of analytical tasks related to California’s Early Start program
Draft and interpret policies and regulations related to the Early Start program as well as related services for individuals with developmental disabilities
May act as lead staff on various projects for the Data Research and Reporting Section

Required

Knowledge of Part C of IDEA, the Lanterman Act, California's Early Start program, and developmental disabilities service system
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs (including Word, Teams, etc.), Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, Windows 11 and other software
Knowledge in state and federal laws, policies, and regulations
Ability to analyze laws and regulations as well as generate reports/recommendations based on data
Excellent communication skills
Ability to meet and interact respectfully with the public, our community, other State and legislative officials
Establish and maintain effective working relations with others and always adhere to professional conduct
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Adhere to office policies and procedures related to confidential information
Discretion with confidential information must be used at all times
Must be a resident of the State of California at the time of appointment
Requires lawful authorization to work in the United States
Work requires the use of a computer up to 85 percent of time
Daytime and overnight statewide travel may be required to local programs within California for meetings and technical assistance

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment
