Theatre Arts Production & Design- Theatre Crafts Lab Instructor Pool-Part-Time
North Orange County Community College District is seeking part-time instructors for Theatre Crafts Lab classes at Fullerton College. The role involves teaching and collaborating with students from diverse backgrounds while imparting principles of theatre arts with a focus on scenic and prop construction.

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in any discipline AND two years of professional experience
OR Associate degree in any discipline AND six years of professional experience
OR Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area
OR The equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee

All degrees and course work used to satisfy the required minimum qualifications must be submitted and from accredited postsecondary institutions
Evaluations of foreign degrees and/or course work are required
Preferred
Ability to collaborate with and teach students from diverse backgrounds, fostering an inclusive learning environment while imparting the principles of theatre arts with a focus on scenic and prop construction
Skilled at adapting instructional methods to meet varying skill levels and learning styles
Highly proficient in reading, interpreting and deciphering communication tools for production teams, including CAD drafting packets, scaled production models, white models, painter's elevations, 3D renderings, and detailed scene sheets
Demonstrated ability to translate creative concepts into tangible assets
Comprehensive knowledge of scenic construction materials and methods, including lumber, metals, plastics, and advanced fabrication techniques such as welding, CNC routing, and 3D printing
Skilled in integrating traditional craftsmanship with modern technologies to produce high-quality scenic elements
Certified and experienced in the safe operation and supervision of Ariel Work Platforms (AWPs) and Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs), ensuring compliance with safety standards and best practices during all phases of scenic installation and strike
Understanding of Career and Technical Education (CTE) program objectives, supported by extensive hands-on experience as a theatrical technician and stagehand in theme parks and entertainment venues
Committed to preparing students for real-world careers in the performing arts and entertainment industries
LMS experience/training (Canvas)
Detailed experience teaching technical theatre courses, especially introductory classes, with innovative teaching practices supporting success and retention of women, students of color and students with disabilities
Experience collaborating with faculty, staff, and/or community leaders in programs and initiatives that are specifically designed to assist historically underrepresented students achieve their educational goals
