Structural Engineering Intern
LHB, Inc. is a multidisciplinary architecture, engineering, and planning firm that has an exciting summer internship opportunity for Structural Engineering students. As a Structural Engineering intern, you will receive hands-on training, prepare structural design calculations and drawings, participate in project meetings, and assist in project drafting and construction site visits.

Responsibilities
Prepare structural design calculations and drawings under the guidance of other structural designers and engineers
Participate in virtual and in-person project and department meetings
Coordinate the structural design with other team members
Assist in project drafting
Perform construction site visits and field observations
Answer field questions and review construction submittals
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET accredited college
Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
Valid driver's license with the ability to travel domestically, intermittently
Ability to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, and work outside in most weather conditions
Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
Preferred
Prior completion of structural engineering courses including concrete and steel design
Junior or Senior year of college
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Mathcad, and structural analysis software such as RISA and Enercalc
Familiarity in using AutoCAD and/or Revit
Familiarity with building and design codes
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with constantly changing priorities
MSHA Certification
Ability to motivate and work productively with minimal supervision
Ability to work on multiple tasks, respond positively to feedback, and openness and desire to learn
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing ability
