The Florida Department of Corrections is seeking a versatile and dedicated human resource professional to serve as the Human Resource Consultant at Suwannee Correctional Institution. In this role, you will be the primary contact for all HR matters at your assigned Institution, coordinating recruitment, supporting managers with performance management, and handling employee relations issues.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and support Institutional recruitment and selection efforts, facilitate employee fingerprinting, drug testing, and physicals, ensuring compliance from the start

Support managers with performance management and manage various attendance and leave programs, such as the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Workers' Compensation

Perform payroll processing actions to ensure wage and hour compliance, such as verifying timesheets and monitoring pay additives

Act as a liaison, handling employee relations issues and coordinating essential tasks like facilitating new employee orientation, direct deposit compliance, benefits enrollment, and vacancy tracking

Required

A high school diploma or its equivalent

Six (6) years of experience in performing and/or managing human resources/personnel

Completion of an advanced degree from an accredited college AND one (1) year of experience in performing and/or managing human resources/personnel

Completion of a four-year degree from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of experience in performing and/or managing human resources/personnel
