Senior Tax Professional (Senior/Manager)

HRecruits is representing a well-established, independently owned CPA firm in the Baltimore-Metro Area that emphasizes a people-first approach to growth. They are seeking a Senior Tax Professional to prepare and review tax filings, ensure compliance with regulations, manage financial statements, and advise clients on tax strategies.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review business tax returns (partnerships, S-corps, closely held entities)
Work directly with small to mid-sized business owners and professional clients
Handle straightforward accounting and bookkeeping matters (primarily QuickBooks)
Prepare or review some individual and fiduciary returns (nice-to-have, not required)
Collaborate with partners who remain actively involved with clients

Qualification

Required

5-10+ years of tax experience in public accounting (open to varying experience/levels)
Strong foundation in business tax and core accounting
Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a team
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Experience in tax compliance and a strong understanding of tax regulations
Proficiency in tax preparation and general tax-related processes
Knowledge of financial statements and strong accounting skills
Attention to detail, client-centered, effective communication, and ability to work collaboratively
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred

CPA certification preferred (or active interest in pursuing)
Prepare or review some individual and fiduciary returns (nice-to-have, not required)
Experience with CCH Axcess or ProSystem FX is a plus (training available)
CPA preferred, but not required
