Office Manager

The State of Nebraska is seeking an Office Manager for the Judicial Branch, which is responsible for overseeing administrative support staff and managing various office operations. The role includes coordinating office procedures, preparing correspondence, maintaining budgets, and providing customer service.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Supervises office secretarial staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations
Prepares correspondence to include court documents, presentence or predisposition investigations, enter information into the database, and maintain budget balances, submit monthly billing claims and bi-annual billing invoices
Coordinates and maintains accounting support functions which includes maintaining accounts, tracking purchases, reviewing and approving purchase orders and invoices, monitoring travel expenses, and performing related duties
Attends meetings and conferences as required; takes minutes; composes drafts, prepares and distributes agenda, schedules, and other materials
Prepares, processes, and maintains operational records, reports and statistics
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level

Required

Associate's degree in related field
3 years of administrative support experience
equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
All educational credits must be granted from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education
Knowledge of supervisory principles

Knowledge of mathematical concepts
Knowledge of data entry techniques
Knowledge of grant applications
Knowledge of modern office procedures and equipment
Knowledge of English language, grammar, and punctuation
Knowledge of computers and related software applications
