Chief Development Director
Circle Ten Council is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead and grow a high-impact philanthropic enterprise that fuels transformative Scouting programs across North Texas. This senior executive role provides vision, strategy, and operational leadership for all philanthropic revenue streams to ensure the Council’s long-term financial sustainability.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-year fundraising strategy aligned with Circle Ten Council’s mission and strategic priorities
Serve as a trusted advisor to the Scout Executive/CEO and Executive Board on philanthropy, donor strategy, and revenue sustainability
Translate mission impact into compelling cases for support
Lead all philanthropic revenue streams, including: Major and principal gifts, Annual giving and Friends of Scouting, Corporate partnerships and sponsorships, Foundation and grant fundraising, Special events and campaigns, Planned and legacy giving
Personally manage a portfolio of top donors and prospects, securing major and transformational gifts
Partners with board members and key volunteers in donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
Support the Executive Board, Development Committee, and campaign leadership in achieving fundraising goals
Equip and inspire volunteer leaders to serve as effective ambassadors and fundraisers
Foster a culture of philanthropy across the organization
Ensure best-in-class donor stewardship, recognition, and engagement
Oversee donor communications, impact reporting, and relationship management
Champion data-informed fundraising strategies using CRM systems and analytics
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing development team
Establish scalable systems, processes, and performance metrics
Ensure compliance with all ethical, legal, and regulatory fundraising standards
Collaborate with program, membership, marketing, finance, and operations teams to align fundraising with program impact and storytelling
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred
10–15 years of progressive nonprofit development leadership experience
Proven success in securing major and principal gifts and leading diversified fundraising portfolios
Experience partnering effectively with CEOs, boards, and senior volunteers
Strong executive presence, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills
Preferred
Experience in youth-serving, faith-aligned, or mission-driven organizations
Capital or comprehensive campaign leadership experience
Knowledge of the Dallas–Fort Worth philanthropic landscape
Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Raiser's Edge
