Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Marine Electrician to support skilled trades work on Weapon Elevators and Aircraft Elevators systems on U.S. Navy ships. The role involves performing maintenance and technical support, troubleshooting electrical systems, and interfacing with customers and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on elevators and elevator doors such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations
Analyzes and evaluates elevator operations and related performance
Troubleshoot, maintenance and repair electrical systems and its associated equipment to eliminate problem in minimum time
Install, upgrade and remove electrical systems on elevators and elevator door components ensuring coordinative engineering field change
Applies comprehensive understanding of production and processes toward completion of assignments
Responsible for interfacing with customers, managing subcontractors and ability to provide work direction to others
Develops and uses technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports
Schedules, reports and briefs customers and senior management
Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment

Required

High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 4 years of related experience
Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty
Must have working knowledge and experience with troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs of electrical systems and its associated equipment
Must be proficient in reading drawings and schematics
Must be able to follow/enforce safety procedures to ensure a safe and secure work environment
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Confidential security clearance
Must be able to obtain base access credentials within 60 days of start date and maintain credentials throughout employment

Preferred

Experience in the maintenance and repair of Navy and/or MSC shipboard cargo and weapons elevators, ordnance handling equipment, and vertical package conveyors
A current, active DoD Confidential security clearance or higher
Previous experience working with PLC Controllers
Able to read and understand the use of precision measuring tools
Able to identify system and component location based on ships structure
Previous experience and ability to use meters and test equipment
Prefer technical/professional certifications
