Digital Signal Processing Ultrasound Engineer – Medical Device (San Diego, CA)

They are seeking a Digital Signal Processing Ultrasound Engineer to lead the design and development of next-generation Intravascular Ultrasound products, applying advanced imaging algorithms and acoustic wave propagation theory.

Responsibilities
Applying acoustic wave propagation and signal processing theory to the design and specification of new imaging algorithms and imaging sub-systems
Leading development and implementation of new ultrasound imaging capabilities, including development plans, algorithm design, integration strategy, and SW implementation
Participate in the design, development, and integration of new ultrasound systems and transducers
Tune IVUS systems for optimum image quality on a range of transducers and imaging features. Also, work closely with customers to understand their needs and evaluation of new designs
Help translate marketing/customer requirements into engineering specifications
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in the field of medical imaging research and/or product development with the majority being in the development of Ultrasound Imaging Systems
Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
Expert in MATLAB
Ability to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position
Ability to plan, lead, and execute laboratory research and experimentation
Preferred
PhD desired
